Happy Birthday Brody & Lorren

Eleven years ago today I became an Aunt to Brody and Lorren, so Happy Birthday to both of them today. It doesn't seem like it has been 11 years.  On this day 11 years ago my step brother Jason and his wife Kim were having there baby Lorren  in El Paso, Texas and my step sister Stacey and her husband Gary were here in Little Rock having their baby Brody. It was crazy how they were pregnant at the same time but it never occurred that they could have their babies on the same day and they did! It was such an exciting day and I am so glad to be apart of their lives and for them to call me Aunt Heather! Here are some pictures of them over the years....tear...lol

I love these kids!
We wont be able to be with Lorren today because they live in Louisiana but I called and she is going shopping so I hope she has a great day!
Last night we had a get together for Brody's Birthday since we wouldn't see him today and here are a few pictures from last night..

Happy Birthday Brody & Lorren!!!

Vacation Bible School

So this past week has been Vacation Bible School at our church and I was the leader for the pre-school class. I hadn't been to VBS since I was really small so it was such a blessing to be a part of this and be able to help with all the little ones this week!

It was a beach themed VBS we had a "Beach Blast" and our motto for the week was " God is Faithful...I can dig it!"
Here are a few of the pictures of the kids in action during the week!
This was in Bible Story.

My sweet Lillian, I have her in my Sunday School class and she is so sweet and adorable!

This is Braxton,  he calls me "Teacher" with this sweet country voice that melts my heart!!

This is Mason who is very quite and shy but he has really opened up this week in VBS with me and Corey!

This is all the kids lined up in the "Train" this is the only way I could get them to stay in a straight line, they would make train noises all around the church but they stayed in line! I was so proud of them.

Also last night at family night our friends daughter Allison was saved and it was so touching to see that and see her with her family as she accepted Christ into her life! Picture of Alli below!

I have been so blessed by this past week and I am truly looking forward to next year!

My Dad's Engaged!

I am happy to announce that my Daddy is engaged!!! Her name is Renetta, and everyone that knows her loves her.  I could not be any happier with my dad's choice.  She has done so much for me and Corey and we just adore her! I happy to be able to finally call her my stepmom very soon!

This picture was taken at my wedding!

This was all of us on Easter when they came to church with us!

Father's Day Weekend

On Friday night we had a Father's Day dinner for my stepdad (Bob) since he would be working the rest of the weekend......here are the pictures that I took....

This is Brody

This is Riley

This is me with them both!

Sorry but that was all the pictures that I took from Friday night.

On Saturday we went up to Petit Jean State Park for a car show and swap meet that Corey has been going to since he was a little boy.  He used to go with his dad when he was still living and they would go every year it being on the Saturday before Father's Day so now he goes as remembering his dad.

This year was my first year to go and to be honest I didn't want to go at first because it was going to be hot and humid and I just didn't think it would be fun, but I went for Corey and I LOVED it and will be going every year.  They had some neat stuff like crafts and antiques which I love! Here are some pics that I took....

On Sunday we had a Father's Day dinner with my mom's family and my dad and Renetta came down as well. I didn't get any pictures there which makes me sad :(

Blog Slacker

I have been a slacker at blogging lately but I have been super busy lately.  My mom has been in and out of the hospital for three weeks now after she had a hernia repair she is having some complications still and they can't figure that out.  Hopefully I can get better at doing this. But on a good note we will be starting our second phase of our house remodel soon so I will post some pictures of our house now so everyone can keep up with our transformation.

Memorial Day Weekend

I have been so busy over this past weekend I forgot to take any pictures but we had a fun weekend! We hung out with our friends, The Goodwins and our family. On Monday we had a cookout with Corey's family and some of our friends. I made this brownie trifle that was delicious but like I said I didn't take any pictures so next time I make it I will take some pictures and post the recipe. Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend.

Remodel of House: Phase 1

We have been remodeling our house and in the first phase we replaced our foundation, roof, and gutted our bathroom. We are going to remodel our whole house but we are doing it in phases so Corey can take a break. Here are some pictures of before and after of phase 1.

This is the new roof and the foundation before we jacked up the house and replaced the foundation.

This is the foundation after it was replaced. ( It was still a little wet.)

We tiled in the shower, replaced the toilet, tiled the floor, & put sheetrock up and textured it.
